I am a UX designer with a background in qualitative research and communications, both in terms of my education and various jobs that I have held in Canada, India, and the United States. During my career, I have used my disciplined and goal driven attitude, management skills and innovative thinking to successfully collaborate with colleagues and clients. I have had a longstanding interest in human-computer interaction, triggered by a digital ethnography that I conducted in internet chat rooms. At previous positions, I have been involved in product design and UX design projects.
Currently, I am a UX design tutor at CareerFoundry.
During the last couple of years, I have dabbled in the world of online education and training while working on an entrepreneurial project. This experience added immensely to my knowledge of digital marketing, which is a related skill set that I can use as an UX designer. Also relevant is my previous training in semiotics and film theory that helps me think visually as a UX designer. Finally, my knowledge of research methods has helped me structure my UX design process and be more user focused.
