ObjectiveCreate a participatory environment for women playing cricket, to let them experience membership in a global community formed around the game of cricket.
Market Opportunity - Women's cricket is growing rapidly, but there is a lack of independent spaces for female cricket players. Rather, they tend to get clubbed with their male counterparts.
Target Audience - Female cricket players located anywhere in the world and playing the game either professionally or as an amateur.
Features - (1) Personal profile; (2) Team profile; (3) Tournament page; (4) Match scoring; (5) Cricket news; (6) Coaching videos.
Context - Project completed for UX/UI course at CareerFoundry.
Role - Wrote project outline, designed app wireframes, created brand guidelines, gathered user feedback and finished app user interface design.
Competitive Context
Scanned the market and found other mobile apps that cater to cricket players. Understood that the market is dominated by two apps - CricHeroes and Stumps.

The use of cricket apps is a relatively new phenomenon. Most apps are extensions of cricket news sites. So, they report about recent matches and present statistics as well as miscellaneous news related to the game. In addition, predictive analytics are included in a couple of apps. Players can also use these apps to score their own matches, tabulate their tournaments and analyze individual and team statistics.
Cricket Divas intends to emulate these apps by offering similar features but targeted solely at female cricket players. It will stand out by offering female cricket players around the world a platform to bond and share their cricket playing stories.

What Went Well
-I came up with the overall structure of the app quite easily.
-During user testing, I realized that the idea has potential as the women who tested the app reacted positively to the concept and the name.
-I was able to create wireframes for both iOS and android versions of the app.
-The color scheme is appealing, according to the testers, and it is based on the game of cricket (played on a green field).
-The UX and UI components of the project worked well in parallel, so I was able to adjust the design as I received user reactions.
What Did Not Go Well
-With a background in marketing and research, I always struggle with the design elements of a project and this one was no different.
-Women's cricket is still a niche segment so there is limited information available online.
-The user testing was not as detailed as I would like.
-I had intended to include a few screens focused on cricket analytics or the analysis of individual and team performance, but this had to be excluded due to the lack of knowledge about cricket.
What Can Be Improved
-The app can be better aligned with the women's cricket industry (for example, use of appropriate jargon/terms, team names etc.).
-Use of innovative design elements can help the app stand out and become more appealing.
-The user testing can be better organized and done in phases so that design is improved iteratively.
-The app can be divided into two sections for amateur and professional players, respectively.
